Lora Shahine, MD

Lora Shahine, MD, FACOG, is a double board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and OBGYN who is dedicated to teaching, advocating for patient care, and shattering stigma around fertility and miscarriage.

 

She completed her fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Stanford University, where she served as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, contributed to several research publications in fertility and recurrent miscarriage, and completed the program with awards in research and teaching. Dr. Shahine did her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of California in San Francisco where she received awards for teaching and the annual faculty award for outstanding research in women’s health. She earned her medical degree at Wake Forest University in NC and undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University, in Washington, DC.

 

Dr. Shahine joined PNWF in 2009, serves as a clinical associate professor at the University of Washington and enjoys teaching OBGYN residents at the Swedish residency program.

 

An accomplished author, she has published over 75 peer-reviewed research projects, contributed to the New York Times, Washington Post, and many media outlets, and written several books including the bestselling Not Broken: An Approachable Guide to Miscarriage and Recurrent Pregnancy Loss and Planting the Seeds of Pregnancy: An Integrative Approach to Fertility Care.

 

She is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Seattle GYN Society, Pacific Coast Reproductive Society, Pacific Coast OBGYN Society, and past president of the Early Pregnancy Loss Association and Social Media Special Interest Groups at ASRM. She serves on the board of Babyquest Fertility Grant Association and Doctors for Fertility nonprofit educating on reproductive rights.

 

Dr. Shahine educates on reproductive health globally reaching over 3 million people a month by hosting the Baby or Bust Fertility Podcast and creating educational content across YouTube, Instagram, Tiktok, and most social media platforms.

 

Dr. Shahine lives in Seattle with her husband and children and enjoys travel, skiing, great food and time spent with friends and family.
