Men’s Reproductive Health
Overview
Men’s reproductive health is an important part of the fertility evaluation. Up to 50% of couples struggling with infertility will have a male factor. A semen analysis is an essential step in the initial workup, and results may guide recommendations for treatment. PNWF also offers sperm cryopreservation for those interested in future family building. This may include individuals needing cancer treatment, pursuing gender-affirming therapy, or planning a vasectomy.

PNWF Approach
Sperm parameters can be important indicators of overall health and wellbeing for men. In some situations we refer male patients to a reproductive urologist who can provide expert consultation and discuss potential treatment.
PNWF works closely with Dr. Kevin A. Ostrowski, a reproductive urologist based at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland. Our providers collaborate with him to develop the best treatment plan, and he is able to offer surgical sperm retrieval procedures at our Seattle clinic.

Dr. Ostrowski is a board-certified urologist and fellowship trained in Male Infertility Andrology and Men’s Health. After attending medical school at St. Louis University, he completed his residency at OHSU in Portland, Oregon and fellowship training at the University of Washington. He received extensive training in the clinical and surgical aspects of male infertility including: azoospermia, hormonal therapy, advanced sperm retrieval techniques, evaluation and treatment of azoospermia, testicular sperm extraction, micro-TESE, and vasectomy reversal.
He is a member of the American Urological Association (AUA), Society for the Study of Male Reproduction (SSMR), and American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). In 2018, he received the Julian S. Ansell Teaching Award from the University of Washington Department of Urology for outstanding teaching during the academic year.
Dr. Ostrowski is passionate about male fertility and male fertility preservation. He likes to partner with his patients to create a personal care plan to meet all of his patient’s needs. Being from the Pacific Northwest, he’s excited to be providing care to the community he grew up in.
